This course is for experience freedivers looking to be part of the safety team for any AIDA Freediving Competitions. It is also a glance into competition rules, organization, and logistics for athletes to get a “behind the scenes” look at freediving competition.

AIDA Competition Safety Diver Course - $450
3-4 Day Course
- Theory Session: 12 -15 Hours
- 3 Pool Sessions: 90 Minutes each
- 2 Depth Sessions: 2.5 Hours in Water each
- Certified Diver Guarantee: We are confident in our ability to help new divers. If you do not pass the course in the allotted time. You can train with us for free until you pass

- Call with your instructor: Get to know your instructor before you book your training. We want to make sure we are the right fit for you. Talk about your experience level, freediving goals, and struggles.
- Remote Training Program: Start studying and training from the comfort of your own home.
- Videos & Photos: During your training sessions, we like to take photos and or video for you. Ask about pricing and availability.
- Training Programs: Once certified you gain access to Molchanovs “Base Training” Programs at no extra cost for 90 days. Including plans for dry training, pool training, open water training, and frenzel equalization
- Rental Equipment
- 18 Years Old
- Hold an AIDA2 freediving certification or equivalent
- Have previous AIDA competition experience as athlete, judge or organizer. (can be done simultaneously)
Depth Safety requirements
- 35-40m CWTB
- 30m dive + 30” surface recovery + 20m dive
- 20m dives with 3-5” notice, at fast pace (early turn simulation)
- Ability to perform solo rescues from -20m
- Ability to perform team rescues from -25m with 30” standby
- Ability to assist and rescue from -25m with BOs at random depths (es. surface, 10m,
25m, in random order) covering all team roles (Safety 1, Safety 2 and Safety 3),
including extraction (hand-off to the medical team) - Ability to manage stress
- Pass the theory exam (75% min. score)
Pool Safety requirements
- 100m surface swim in less than 1:45 (no equipment)
- 100m surface swim in less than 1:30 (with equipment)
- 50m surface sprint using fins and floating board in less than 35” (50m pool).
Adjust based on the available pool if needed (e.g. less than 40” for a 25m pool) - 50m DYNB
- 8x25m DYNB at fast pace, 15” recovery
- 30” STA at the bottom of the pool (1m-3m)

You should also be well rested, hydrated, and ready to learn!
You can either use your own gear or use our equipment. Price for using our equipment is included in the price, nothing extra.
Each instructor can have up to 4 students in a class. However we try to limit this to 3 students per instructor. This gives the students enough one on one time to learn everything needed for the course.
Swim wear, refillable water bottle, towel, and reef-safe sunscreen.
